When Incompetence mates with Indifference
the result should neither thrive nor prosper.
The progeny will be pulled through life,
as if being led through a hedge backwards,
garnering little respect with the results.
Later it will do what it can to disown
its parents, long after the effects
of such parenting can be reversed.
But it will salvage as can be saved
before it reaches retirement age,
when such ease may be well earned,
whilst it is unexpected.
If the offspring is called Survival
and it really wants to live
it had better live up to its name.
