April Remains The Cruelest Month

to started a war that was never settled after.

The American Civil War started on the12th of April 1861.
It was officially declared 'ended' 3 years and 362 days later.

After the war, new laws were passed
that extended American citizenship in the shape
of  the 13th ,14th, and 15th amendments
of the American Constitution. All of them
laws that have been observed in the breach 
in judgements contrary to them ever since.

Jim Crow states, with Jim Crow laws,
tried to make sure non white citizens,
including the descendants of former slaves,
'knew their place' in an economy that had been
built on slave labour that was reluctant
to abandon what had made the few so wealthy.

Over a hundred and sixty years later,
and some billionaires in the new USA
would like more new laws that resurrect 
the old dystopian extremities of wealth and power
to fuel inequality for a new millennium.
