My thoughtless heart
knows enough to know
it is less an organ for thought
more an organ meant for feeling,
where in a thoughtless world
it mostly finds venal stupidity
within what passes for government policy,
where the longer it left to continue
the more it hurts to observe it.
But reliable exits from the pain
that a thoughtless world promotes
are not recommended.
