Waste Not, Want Not...

The seagulls making the best of the bins
at my local seaside port of Newcastle,
County Down enjoying their consumer research
into the contents of the chip wrappers
from the local take away food outlets. 

Since these photos were taken,
local bin design has become more secure 
but the birds still have a rich social
and culinary life, and find other places
to exploit human waste and lack of observation.
