It's No Game

I now know why I never play video games,
that is apart from being of the generation
where games were physical, like dominoes,
or games with packs of cards, or monopoly,
which was originally meant to teach children
that capitalism was evil before it was co-opted.

When  chance took away my will to win I stopped caring.

But I cared who won in real life,
and I wanted people I knew
who I thought deserved better
to not be sold one thing
and end up with another
where what they got was always
what they were going to be sold.

 I saved my anger for a politics
which will outlast me
which is why I remain angry.
