Delicious As It Is

as a condiment, we in the rich west
should surely think again
about Himalayan black salt.

That it is so easily exported to us
is not only proof of the Chinese grip
on world trade and our sense of taste,
but also proof of the tight hold
the Chinese keep on the Tibetan landscape,
which they want to spread further abroad.
