Nothing To Hide, Or Hide Behind

I first grew a beard at age 19 and have been clean
 shaven on only three times in 33 years, only to let it
regrow immediately. For decades I endured cheap
taunts like  'what is that beard hiding?' from my family
when their mirthless jokes hid far more from me than
I hid from them in my facial hirsutism. Now I now have
 a transparency they never did and share hearty laughs
 through my luscious lip locks.
