Existential Consumerism

Of course he could do both....

There Are Only Three Things

we need daily; 1) something to do that we can do.
2) somebody to be loved by and return love to.
and 3)something to look forward to, to be doing.
Anything above those three is want that leads to ruin.
The ruin will not be immediate, and may be far off
geographically, but it will surely come.

If Dogs Learned From Television...

'Blongo watchy telly. See wolifs. Big Daddy wolif eaty deeers.
Urra wolifs stand in the snow sticky tongues in and out.
Tongues in and out.Ask for bitty Daddy wolifs food.
Now Blongo sticky tongue in and out all the time
asky Mummydaddy for the food. Lick lick lick feed me now.'

Quoted without asking from 'My epileptic lurcher which I heartily commend.

In the Event Of Nuclear Annihilation

this song will be the new world anthem because
the belief it expresses will be all we have left.

Good Karma

will always leave you feeling younger,
 whatever your years and times.
 With thanks to this.

World War II

may have ended nearly 68 years ago,
but for as long as government targets
citizens to get the powers that be results
that will please their corporate supporters,
then war will always be with us.

What Did The Egg Say To The Chicken?

'Work will make you free to have more of me
in the perpetual cycle of the embodiment of suffering'.

Political Narcolepsy

The more rhetorically the word 'freedom' is used
the more totalitarian the society,
the better to mask the loss of liberty.
The more often dreams replace human connectivity,
and keep citizens asleep, in lieu of reality.

All It Would Take

to plug ourselves into ancient history
is to unplug ourselves from electricity.

Repeat/Avoid/Repeat

When families avoid the conversations
where they are going to disagree, repeatedly,
even the avoidance becomes repetition.

Busy Being Too Busy

The easy way to break something
is try to fix it when it is not broken.

Empowerment

favours the few over the many, though the persuasion
has the opposite effect of  making the many think
they are the few through promising individuation.

And Empowerment always prefers producers
over consumers, or voters, by a very long distance.

How Far Sighted

do we have to be to see beyond  the paranoid culture of  the gun ?

The Biggest Surplus

the world has to re-balance,
to reclaim itself, is human claims
to alpha status, being top of the food chain.
No sign of that coming, for a long time yet.....

There Is No Dark Side

to the moon, it's all dark.

The Andy Warhol Rule

of modern creativity; the lazier the artist
the weaker the work they produce to sell,
but the better the salesman they have to be
to prove that networking is be done for profit.

What Part Of The Sedentary Life

is so hard to accept that it has be complained about?
Click on the picture for the calmer approach
 to modern competitive business culture.

Snobbery Through Technology

and continuous partial attention have leaped forward in Britain,
as recently more people were found to watch more television
on fewer television sets than before. The new platform
on which to see TV is on mobile phones instead,
because the adverts are less understandable.

Steward Is Not What It Used To Be

If nature was made not just for us to mind,
but also as a mirror that would reflect
our unconsciousness
it would seem that we prefer to be blind.

The Price Of Seduction

It is not so much how in the drink you take the girls clothes off,
but how in the process alcohol will disarm your defenses
in a way  that after she is done with your defenses
they will never work like they did before you met her.

The Future We Can Aspire To

Click on the picture for the Emily Dickinson poem the above lines come from.

It Is An Insult To Rats

when we use the phrase 'the rat race'
to compare the pressure on resources
and the rapid extinction of species
that our over-population has plagued
the planet with to the effects
of colonies of the family Muroidea.

Being Unemployable,

through my honesty with employers
about the depth of my uselessness to them
as their pursue profit over community, is as near
as I am going to get towards an honest tax avoidance
that grants myself and everyone it affects the mutuality,
choice and self respect we can all live with.

Meat

from animals that are calm when killed tastes better.
But how calm should the consumer of such flesh,
killed for them so far away at such great expense,
have to be for them to be able to taste the difference?

My Epitaph;

This the last time I will be late, honest........

The Hunter Of Hindsight

calmly seeks out the falsity in the dutch courage
that runs down human history
like a virus destroying a body,
always knowing it will need another host.
Such courage is a sort-of life,
but is far from what was intended.

Number Of The Day

668-the number of rhinos killed in South Africa in 2012
as Asian demand for their horns, but nothing else of them, soars,
due to the sexual superstition and virility myths of the breeding classes.
with an estimated 146 poached as of 8th Mar 2013.

Hardship And Hygiene,

are what children feel when deferring to parents
on how to live. From diligence in following instructions
comes the discovery that hygiene, and the distance
at which they are kept are always built on lies.
With hardship life always works out differently
from how they were told it will be. After that
apologies are as useful and common as hens teeth.
As adults the greatest trick the poor and choice-less
can learn will be to extract the gift of humility
from the curse of depression, to move quicker
towards reason, and be more genuinely forgiving.
An ambition that works needs to be free of vanity.

Putting The 'Us' into Used

Whatever is worth knowing
often seems even better ignored.
Secrecy thrives on power,
power thrives on secrecy,
both avoid responsibility
by not dealing with truth.
Whilst in meek ignorance
the planet devours itself
using us as its agents.

The Work Ethic

-Oscar Wilde on the death of vocation.

Bags For Everything

To carry the young around in when they are too young to walk.
For school books and other forgettable things which
family and society insist you need, the better to meet their needs.

For getting comfy with a mate when you can get away from being watched.
For making consumerism seem virtuous.
For being consumed by your maker when you are truly tired of life.

I Admire Non-Violent Action

but I am not a pacifist.
I have seen the calm of pacifism all too rarely,
but in it I have glimpsed wholeness and ease.
The public peace declared in the times I was conceived
was merely a very thin cover.
I have lived through the echoes of too many wars,
repeated too many times where if I thought
to create ease and space where winnings were shared
and there was no loss. Whenever I suggested this
in the past it became proof to others of my violence.

Eight Handy Phrases

to slip into tele-sales cold calls to make them brief and polite.

1)The Queen is arriving to visit me later today by appointment
and my house is not ready to recieve her, shall I send her your regards?

2)The dog is just having puppies and I am feeling somewhat tender
from watching such a wonderful sight. We are a grandmother
with all this happening, I wish you were here to see it.

3)I am sorry, I thought you were the clinic ringing me up
to confirm my appointment for a colonic irrigation.

4)The house next door but one to this is now on fire and the family
there need some help. Have you any first aid tips?

5)I'd like to listen to you but I have a funeral to go to, in a few
minutes a car is collecting me.

6)You tell me your post code and home address, so I can look
it up on Google earth right now and then I will tell you mine.

7)Did you know that spending too long on the phone can give
you cancer of ear?

and finally

8) [use this phrase after giving your name and regretting it] well
actually I am an alien  and I have taken over the body of the person
named, who used to live here, which why I can talk in their
langauge. I would give you my alien name but you would not
be able to pronounce it. You don't know how far beyond your
petty corporate totalitarianism I am, but if you want to look up
the name of my planet on google sky you are welcome.

Pregnant Thoughts

Feminism is good stuff. Women need to increase
their status and the value of the roles they perform
for men, for all, for men to value women's worth.
How else to change how they are seen?
But men need help from women too,
to fight that immaturity where older men
see themselves as unattractive and compensate
by turning younger women into decorations.
Engaged intelligence should be the measure of life,
rather than the lust of eye or the works of the flesh,
which tire. Equality of gender will get nearer
for following the example of seahorses.

A Source Of Cheer

And if the soulless who should be cheerful in their self knowledge
are not confident in their certainty, then what hope is there?

Signs Of Greater Age (16)

1)Reacting negatively when you hear the phrase
'I have always thought' preceding the expression
of  an opinion or idea because you know
that it is part of maturity that people change
their thoughts over time. Anyone who believes
in their own changes knows there is no 'always'.

2)Finding that there no new entertainments,
in the movies or television. Everything there is
to watch and listen to now is a weaker reiteration,
that echoes something that was expressed better before.

Any Society

that leaves no time
for its members to listen
to one another is a non-society.
