I Admire Non-Violent Action

but I am not a pacifist.
I have seen the calm of pacifism all too rarely,
but in it I have glimpsed wholeness and ease.
The public peace declared in the times I was conceived
was merely a very thin cover.
I have lived through the echoes of too many wars,
repeated too many times where if I thought
to create ease and space where winnings were shared
and there was no loss. Whenever I suggested this
in the past it became proof to others of my violence.

Beyond Banality

The love of money
goes beyond banality
and beyond nationality
such that it is the foundation
underneath every nation state
which is why nobody can
make their peace
with the state they live in.
