Suddenly The Future Seems Clearer

| Because the recent past can no longer go by that fast that it defeats my comprehension. Read why I the present seems smarter with the presence of 'a smart phone' here. |

One Of Many Cursed Things
that proliferates in this world
is the idea of 'Art that pays for itself',
and pays the owner/artist quickly
-inviting them to make much more.
When work pays well, more often that not
good work declines into less creative work later.
The love of money is no better for art,
than it is for a positively good life,
Where such love makes one life better
it makes many other lives worse.

Democracy Sometimes Has Feathers
particularly when those voting
happen to be turkeys who don't know
that they are voting for Christmas
until after the slip is in the ballot box.

Polluted Vehicles
The President vs the print media is nothing new.
Trump is not even the first president to use twitter
-he simply the loudest and most loutish to use it so far.
In 1808, towards the end of his two term presidency
and perhaps out of weariness, Thomas Jefferson wrote
'Nothing can now be believed which can be seen in a newspaper.
Truth itself has now become suspicious for being put in polluted vehicles.'
What is worthy of note is how fast
Mr Trump has made his mistrust of the media,
an industry he has been in for half his life,
integral to his presidential agenda.

Almost A Miracle
Modern science
is the most expensive
cheap grace humans
have ever devised
for their own comfort.
In how it looks and feels
it is almost a miracle.
But the long term effects
of what we now live by
has yet to be realized.
Only when they are
will we know the true price
and value of what we know.

The Armchair Life
I now understand why I dislike middle aged men
discussing television sport within my earshot;
they are armchair sportsmen sharing shopping lists
of likes and dislikes whilst actively avoiding
the outlets that supply what they are gossiping about.
Their interest in the athleticism and competition
on the screen is so easily eclipsed by the adverts
which support the broadcasting of the sport
that it is really the ad breaks they are buying into.
