From Debt Bondage To Outright War

between any two tribes or nation states,
where one of them first puts another into debts
that the other can't pay off without reducing itself,
and then proceeds to outright war is a very old story.
As old as every Empire, and older than earliest recorded life,
in The Old Testament w,here many such narratives,
built up from shadowy outlines, suggest themselves. 

In the modern world rich countries are rich,
because of the debts they service but never pay  off,
poor countries remain poor for them being
the wrong side of the history of debt, and empire.

Wars, like old enmities, continually simmer.  
No coutntry ever completely disappears
but poor countries still fall into anarchy, dissaray.

In the event of any country being wiped off
the face of the earth, it would remain in the history books,
as described by it's enemies - who for being victors
have will have absolute control of the narrative.

The need for control makes the cancellation of debt, 
and the forgiving any debtor country, imposible.
Those who have to forgivene won't want to forgive
when they know that they will have to forgive again.
