We are all walking wounds.
Our individuality comes from
how differently we are wounded.
We can choose to look alike
by being closed on the surface,
but where would that get us?
Further from 'self knowledge',
what ever that might be.
and more generally accepted
as long as we are not ourselves.
The cleanest wounded among us
live by, and own, their wounds.
They breath as freely as they hurt,
as they see well past all discomfort.
I would never claim such a strength,
but I admire it when I see it in others.
