I Am All For Machines

'learning to think, and becoming empathic'.
There can be nothing wrong with machines
doing that for us-and if they could achieve that
they would reinvent the human world, to boot.
But it would be better for the world we inhabit,
to try improve our old selves, from within,
rather have machines change who we are
-but only on the surface-from without.
