I Am Happy Enough

at the waves of stories and changes in laws
that the 'Gay Pride Season' always draws forth,
every year across the developed world.

But I wish much more
that we saw the measure of a country
less in how it positively accepts
its youthful sexual minorities,
and more in how it treats it's poor,
not that it is a matter of either/or......
