R.E.S.P.E,C.T. vs Leadership

Positive disagreement in a consensus
always requires respect to make it work
and yet respect, to those who seek to lead
because they lack humility, seems absurd,
feebleness itself compared with the ideal
in their heads, the structure of command
where they don't have to think, they know best.

And nobody knows they are right like they do:
for them consensus is what forms around them.

Hobson's Choice

What can the poorest do more than watch
as their time is bartered away by the rich?

This will go on until they have no more life to live,
they will have been devalued by how
their lives are shared beyond them knowing.

Taking The Demos Out Of Democracy

Democracies are built by the parties being voted for
much more than they are made by the individuals
who cast their votes, with varying degrees of confidence.

I Would Find Kitsch

easier to accept if  there were less of it.
But I know with my hopes I am missing its point.
Kitsch is the process of a high level of productivity
allied to minimal thought, to use a high volume
of materials, all the more to closely mirror
the economic model it is built on.
This industrial scale creativity, like all capitalism,
will make the most driven people famous.
The light of their fame will casts long shadows
over the many, for whom living in the small scale
can only mean a life of relative anonymity.
