Hostile Silences

Depression and an embarrassment
have share two distinct qualities
-they both become stronger
than is good for us as a means
to stoking up anger for future use.
They both find further life
in the silences that give them cover.
For myself I want a peaceable silence
and rarely spot the anger in others
before I am being pushed away
for the feelings they have not dealt with.

The Appreciation Gap

The greatest luxury ever
is to live in a comfort
we affect to despise
but refuse to repudiate.
