An Ordinary Afterlife

Hope comes to me,
from the belief that when I am long gone, 
there will be more of life to come after me
than there was when I was there to share in it.  

We Are The Dead

Actions change what words ossify,
as if the dictionary were the ossuary
and our words are the bones
of our now petrified civilisation.

We are the dead, asking each other
what life is like is our occupation.
