The Art Of The Weather
On BBC 24 hour news weather reports
arrive half hourly, like empty buses
on which nobody alights.
Every forecast has a background picture
that is meant to illustrate what the presenter has to say.
I wonder, would the weather have more class
if for backgrounds, instead of using photographs,
the BBC selected nineteenth century oils paintings,
as made by W. M. Turner, or Gustav Courbet?
