I understand what euphoria is.
I just can't get my head around
why other people get excited by it.

If boredom could be made more immersive
and make people more attentive on less
-think of all the effort we would save!

Think of how what is presented as 'news',
is not just not new, it is actually speculation. 
We could avoid all that by rejecting
already desperate looking headlines.

Whole digital news channels would die,
leaving advertisers looking for viewers
more prepared to be restless elsewhere.

Last and far from least reflect on
we could review all the changes
we would not need to go through,
because our stillness and contentment
have now proven them unnecessary....

When Zeus finally gave Sisyphus his eternal punishment,
for his cunning and hubris, and the gods opened
the first quarry to help humans recognize themselves,
how much was Sisyphus permitted a sense of Deja-Vu
with each rock rolled up the hill that fell down again?

to the world without ever expecting
our thoughts to be acknowledged,
respected very much, or acted upon.

Signs Of Greater Age (8)

1-preferring reviews and trailers
over the programmes they point people toward,
because you know the subject
from older programmes
and feel that the same ground
was covered better in the past.

2-finding that 'the chase is better than the catch'
now applies to pursuing your neighbour
for good will between you and them
as much as in the past it meant the pursuit of sex.

3-ultimately realising that where ever
you are going your journey
is going to be better your destination
and it is best to enjoy life on the way.
