The Limits Of Human Company

Whatever human ideas about evolution,
and adaptation within a given environment,
for jumping their place in the food chain
humans will always be the evolutionary cul-de-sac.

For breeding to gross excess
we try to make our road
a little longer and broader in a finite world.
We refuse to accept that we are dead ends
who eliminate so many other species
because we never know when to stop.

Stress

is to humans what gravity is within planets
-both are forces that shape life,
and both stop everything being lighter
and more floaty, whilst making entropy
seem like an irresistible force.  

Hardship And Destiny

C.S. Lewis said “Hardship often prepares
an ordinary person for an extraordinary destiny.”
Given the presence of more than 7,000,000,000
humans on this planet each unknowingly
and collectively making themselves
the ever higher apex in of a food chain
that is unsustainable, this does make the planet
we live off more extraordinary than we like to think.
