Open Relationships

require peoples minds to be open,
much more than they need bodies
willing to engage with each other
-which they usually do most easily
whilst disengaged from everything else
that is going on around them that makes for 'home'.  

The Cloth Of Life

Middle Age is like a pair of pyjama bottoms.
Both lose their youthful elasticity over time,
particularly around the waistline.
In each some parts of the material
suffer greater wear and tear,
with greater need for repair,
than happens in other areas.
Finally, both require frequent inspection. 

The patching up of what we are,
and what we are attached to being,
is never as easy as we like to think...

The Market For Ideas

I like the way ancient Greek philosophers
described the market places they walked through
-as places where they would exchange ideas
at least much as buy the food stuffs they lived on.

I much prefer that notion over 'the market'
as conceived 2000 years later by Adam Smith,
where money is the only means of exchange
and the only idea is the value of goods,
relative to each other as mediated by money.

Smith's market is a place where people and ideas
are worth what people will pay for them,
before they are left to rot, and lose all value.   

Putting The 'Tort' Into 'Torture'

Laws and lies will refine gov't policies,
with lawyers 'fighting' on opposing sides,
both whilst being highly paid, as refugees take refuge
in ever colder and more distant nation states
who believe themselves to be immune
from all natural, human, and physical law
in their refined and alienating hysteria. 

Evolution At Work

Though somewhere out there, there is one more highly evolved
six armed monkey that does all three cover ups completely by itself....
