Memorialising Absence

AI slop is not new. Eons before the utopian fantasy images
symbolising human omnicience over nature, human destruction, and despair
via images of luxury multiplied online, to counter the darker side
of the wars between humans, and the human battle against the world
with vuluminous empty fantasies that are meant to put people to sleep,
town planners fought older wars against nature, with brick and mortar.

Where they would convert fertile land, fell forests, pave over paradise itself
and name the road along which they built new, more comfortable, houses 
after the land and nature they had recently paved amd tarmaced over,
under which were sewers and increasingly complex electronic wiring,
all named after the memory of what they had recently erased through burial.

The planners knew  that human memories quickly fade,
even as names of what the memories were of would remain
thus Orchard Road, Birch Tree Drive, Cyprus Avenue,  etc
effectively memorialise the absence of living memory.
and the permanence of amnesia through memory.
