What I miss most, post Covid
(after the first wave at least)
is the ease with which
I used to talk to strangers
whilst hitching lifts
to the nearest small town
to do my own shopping.
Now neighbours do
my shopping for me,
which is kind of them,
but the open chat
and the sense of being out
and about was a big part
of my sense of reward
with the journey.
