Every time I see a hand sanitiser
at the entrance of a shop
I use it-why would I not?
Often a member of staff
stands the right social distance
from the hand sanitising dispenser,
lightly commending customers to use it.
Each time I see them I have the urge to ask
'Do you have a mind sanitiser that works just as well too?'.
Such cheap sarcasm expresses my quiet dislike
of how the act of buying food has become a duty
much more than the choice, the pleasure,
and the 'freedom' it once was, B.C. (before Covid).
