in the lives of others, through their lies
being taken up as truths unawares.
The awkward part for those around the liars
is how they become agents for narratives
they did not intend to carry, as if the liar
is payed royalties for each lie
the carrier wearies in carrying.
In the short term the gain seems enough
for all, but the longer time passes
the bigger the gain will always be
to the person they carry the lie for,
and before they know it the profit
will become the long term loss
for others unprepared for the end result.
For the liar the the skill of it
comes in creating a continuity
though lies, and being more brazen
than other people estimate they could be.
That is when the culture backs them.
