For Best Effect

don't be mean with it, but use sparingly-
a little goes a long way to lubricating life.

  1. Forgiveness is a word with terrible baggage, and to forgive is very difficult.

It's easier and lighter to ignore than to forgive or forget.

  2. Point taken about the baggage, cliches always weigh heavy. I am sure when reaching a certain age and disposition ignoring some matters seems better than trying to forgive/forget. Not everyone can create that place for themselves. The extension of 'to forgive' is forgiveness, the extension of ignore is ignorance, which does not refresh a person in quite the same way or have the same ring. One may ignore after forgiving, but being ignorant often does not help awareness. If it is any use, I do say 'use lightly' and anything used lightly will take longer to become cliche.
