Advertising

is the levy upon truth
which consumers are led to believe
pays for growth and choice in the economy
of the near future.
But actually  the adverts shrink the present
tense and add to our debts, by fore-shortening 
the longer term possibilities,
the better to make life-through-choice more vertiginous.
