Im/Maturity

I have sometimes been praised
for my 'emotional maturity',
whatever that is. In all honesty
I have doubted what such praise was for.

I have learned to accept the comments
on the basis that such maturity
is about being mercilessly honest
about how immature I need to be
when those immature needs arise.

And I am not that mature,
but somehow I have the confidence
to share what I am with the people
who I hope will understand.
