Thought, Words, And Deeds

The first problem I have with censorship
is that when it shuts down a conversation
it shuts down all the conversations
that might have followed the first one,
with nobody knowing that it will be the case.

My second problem with censorship
is that it does not stop evil deeds,
but rather it becomes the perfect cover
for such deeds being allowed to continue,
well disguised by the lack of language
with which to describe them.

Add to that the false virtue
that comes from 'virtuous speech'
which helps people lie by omission
both to themselves and each other
whilst appearing to be moral and good
and we have the perfect recipe
for normalised perversity, forever.

Left Dress*

I used to keep my thoughts buttoned up
like the flies on my short grey trousers,
which my mother liked me in so much,
that she want me to wear them forever.
The more I grew the longer my trousers got.
As zips replaced buttons everything loosened.

*dress in trousers probably does not exist
now but it used to the side of the crotch
where there was more room to contain the contents.

Cheap Grace In Language (2)

How easily people use sarcasm
to disguise what is in their minds
when they want to avoid sharing,
for fear of being out-rightly rude,
or sweary, to others. Even though
the cause of the suppressed
comment may well deserve it.
