The Wisdom Of John Cage

When John Cage wrote '3'44"'
he knew that even inactivity
needed to be divided neatly
to be understood for what it is.
Which is why, silent, as it is,
it is split into three movements.

In these lock down times
with reduced human contact
we have more time to reflect
which we have to structure
and divide, the way John Cage did.

It Is Predictable

but always surprising
how a mind out of time
with with it's surroundings
will always feel harassed.

Uncertain Endings

When prophets
tell of disaster due,
they never know the time
in which it will come true.
