A Watchful Underdog

is the role that has been allotted to me,
where far from the centre of events
I hear reports of a world gone wild
where money and technology make sure
people cannot settle with each other
for the length of a life or even half that,
the way it was once common to do.

It is possible retreat from the tech
or keep it that simple to use
that it is less of a distraction.

But anyone attempting to stay calm
in the face the coming high tech dystopia
had better be ready for collective myopia.

The Tourettes Of Technology

When technology gets us alone,
it always make us ruder
than we can admit that we are,
with other people.

This is not about porn
which most adults know about,
where the secret with it is less
that we know how to find it
and more that what we hide from ourselves
is how our wanting it is proof that we are bored
with the more evasive, but socially acceptable, agendas.

Who knew that boredom multiplied so easily?

The rudeness I want to point at
is what happens in the home
when the printer wont listen
and obey it's controller, they both act
as if they have had an argument,
and we feel like we are the losers
when we can't print what we want.
They won't listen to us or each other,
that is when the tourettes of technology takes over.

In Bars And Airports

life is what is goes on around people
who spend too long, being distracted
by their advanced mobile phones
because the device attached to them
is the ultimate in-between space distraction.
