In A World That Is Permanently Off-Balance

Who reading this knows 
where the tipping point is, 
before it is reached 
within any given social, spiritual,
legal, or ecological issue?

I don't, and I remember well
my experience as a navigator
when I was a passenger in a car.

I watched for the landmarks 
the driver wanted me to see
before we passed them. 

More often than not
whilst he focused on the road
I saw the landmark as we passed it.

Many times with small roads it took
two or three times to find the turning
for out destination.

This process of navigation
proves to me why the world is off balance
-to see where the balance is off
we have to pass the point
where the best balance was
to trace our way back to it. 

The past is a hard place to navigate our way around,
to restore the world to a previous improved state of balance.
