We Forgive Ourselves

when we selectively erase our histories,
which we do online, as a matter of course
whilst tidying up our computers.

But seeking forgiveness in real life,
from real people, means seeking once
to clearly remember our wrongs,
the better to undo the effects of them,
which takes much more than the press of a button.
