Unsentimentally Yours

I am childless and I plan to remain so,
my experience of childhood
was that it is almost as oversold
as it was over-rated by the adults
I looked up to as a child.

My parents needed to sentimentalize something,
given the competitive indifference
that they foisted onto each other
and I don't understand why they chose me.

As an adult I empathize with the Anti-Natalist cause
where I can, but I have came unstuck in my empathy.

I discovered that however much they try to be calm
as they declaim the human habit of breeding,
there are never enough of them
and they can never be calm enough
to convince over-excited human breeders
to drop their lethally destructive sentiments.
